Humbug (or Carol Singing)
Now, I had a rant a couple of months ago about Trick-Or-Treat, now it’s the turn of carol singers.
Now, Firstly, I want to say this - I have no objection to groups of people WHO CAN SING going door to door singing carols to raise money for good causes.
Now, according to Wordnet, a Christmas Carol is a joyful religious song celebrating the birth of Christ, so groups of tone-deaf teenagers singing (and I use that word loosly) such "classics" as "We Wish You A Merry Christmas", "Rudolf the red nosed Reindeer" and "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" then expecting you to hand over some cash for having them harass you in your own home is not "Carol Singing" on two counts, firstly, as those songs have no religious content whatsoever, they cannot be called "Carols" - secondly, the noise these groups of kids produce can in no way be described as "singing".
