Jerry, Jerry, Jerry

Most people in the UK can’t have missed the furor caused by BBC2’s screening of “Jerry Springer, the Opera” - the hit west-end show. Over the last week or so, I’ve had several e mails from some of my old Christian contacts urging me to write to the BBC and OfCom to complain about this screening. I didn’t do this - for several reasons.

  1. I wasn’t able to watch the show, as I was enjoying a nice meal in a restaurant in Dublin.
  2. I wouldn’t be able to complain about the show’s content until after I’d seen it.

Now, I haven’t seen it, so won’t comment on the supposed blasphemy and inordinate number of swear words reported in the media

Dublin

A quick mention to a great weekend in Dublin - meeting old and new friends, seeing some sights, eating in a very nice restaurant - Oriental food, but the chef comes out to your table and cooks the food in front of you on a hot-plate set right into the top of the table. It’s highly entertaining and a lot of fun.

Of course, a visit to Dublin could never be complete without a visit to what is probably the worlds most famous brewery, Guiness!

The photos are coming soon (the flight back was very late last night - a 45 min flight which should have left Dublin at 1920 didn’t actually leave until 2200, so I’ve not had chance to download the camera yet)

Finally, thanks to Richard and Andrew for "playing hosts" and to George, Martin and Erica for the company!

Photos from the trip are now online in the gallery.
