Magical Trevor is Back

Weebl has finished the second installment of “Magical Trevor” - and it’s even more surreal than the first part - from Cows to Pigeons, and Supermarkets!

I’m not sure this one is quite as catchy as the first installment of Magical Trevor, but it’s still better than Badger Badger Badger… There’s tons of this kind of stuff on Weebls Stuff!

So Spyware Pays

Ever wonder why those spyware authors are so keen to get their advertising toolbars, keyloggers, trojans and everything else onto your PC? Well, according to this article from The Register each infected PC is worth $3 a year. Now that doesn’t sound much, but multiply it by the estimate that 70% of all PC’s on the internet are infected with some kind of spyware, and it’s a lot of money.

Everyone listen. Anti-spyware tools are now as important as anti-virus tools. If you’ve never checked for spyware - now’s the time - Earthlink have provided an on-line spyware audit service which will tell you if your PC is infected with any nasties - it won’t remove them, but there are plenty of tools like AdAware to help you do this.

Thanks to the folks at Lockergnome for bringing attention to this story!

Verizon, The Story Continues

It appears that the reports from last month surrounding US ISP "Verizon" are true - they are apparently blocking all incoming email from non-US domains. A US law company have started bringing a class action on behalf of Verizon customers as a result.

So, If you have email buddies on Verizon, and you are outside the USA, don’t expect to get any replies from them anytime soon…

Star Trek Grounded

It has been announced today, that the latest incarnation of the Star Trek franchise - Enterprise - has been cancelled by it’s US production company. Although much more gritty than the plastic-covered clean and clinical world of Next Generation and Voyager, I found it more interesting as a result.

It’s a shame that the decision has been made, but no doubt, in a few years, there’ll be another Trek series to watch, in the meantime, let’s hope the new Battlestar Galactica gets a second season!
