Toms View of the World

It’s been a long time coming, but spring is here - the first flower to appear in my garden after the winter has blossomed!

I would pretend I could remember what this actually is - latin names and all - but I can’t find the packet the bulbs came in…

With the clocks going forward on Sunday morning too (at least, they do here in the UK)- it does means that winter is well and truely behind us (at least for a few months!) and I can look forward to lighter evenings, warmer days and things hopefully being a little less bleak.

Here’s to better weather, sunnier outlooks and warm summer evenings in the evening sun.

Half the day spent at Oakwood in Pembrokeshire (it was a bit too cold, damp and grey to stay much longer than that) - however there are 2 bits of news to report - firstly Hydro is open again, and with a new-look boat (with “over the shoulder” bars too) and as big a splash as ever. I can’t comment on how it rides however, as with the temperature around 11C, I didn’t want to get soaked!

Also, Megafobia has had a couple of changes, some new wood is visible on the walkways around the ride, and the big tree at the bottom of the first drop has gone.

A recent survey has shown that many motorists in the UK don’t know the meaning of common roadsigns. This is clearly evidenced every time you see those electronic “50″ signs with the flashing lights on the motorway, and people are still driving at 80+, or the electronic signs which clearly indicate a lane to be closed, and people are still in it.
