You waive any right to privacy Pt 2

Following my earlier post regarding AOL’s privacy policy, and the furore it’s caused in the blogging world (and IM users of course) - CNet’s News.com has reported that AOL has clarified what they meant. (more…)

The Inner World of the Hard Drive

This article recently appeared on ExtremeTech - and it’s about as geeky as things get - how does that little hard-drive in your PC actually work?

Well, when you think of 7200 RPM, do you realise that the outer edge of the platter is moving at nearly 50mph?

Small Changes

A few small changes to the site - the blog is now the “homepage” (and the original homepage which had nothing but the links to the sections has gone) - the homepage quotes, which were about the only interesting thing there, are now in the sidebar of this page instead.

Section links are still where they were (in the blue bar at the top), and no pages were moved in the making of these changes, so any existing links should still work.

It just seemed more natural (to me, anyway) to have the blog as the site’s homepage now, rather than the rather bland regular homepage, and the “home” link has been removed from above.

Slammer

[thumb:217:l] [thumb:216:l]

Following my visit to Thorpe Park (for their Rehearsal Day) - I’ve got a couple of pictures of their new ride running tests.

However the big challenge (for me at least) is the weight limit - yes, as well as the usual restrictions on height, they’ve added a restriction on weight - although how it’s going to be enforced is anyone’s guess, I can’t see them having a set of scales on the platform!

Edit - 14/03/05 14:35
James has now added links to more pictures of Slammer, Rush (although there’s not much to see yet) and the 2006 Rocket Coaster (just a lot of dirt at the moment) - See His Website for the links.
