Not “Top Gear”
It making headlines at the moment that an “environmental pressure group” called Transport 2000 are putting pressure on the BBC to axe their signature motoring show - “Top Gear” and replace it with some more “responsible”
Half the fun of Top Gear is the irreverant attitudes - all the fast, wild driving is done on closed roads and private circuits - which is all made clear - and they do test “normal” cars alongside their favourite high-performance asphalt melting cousins, alongside features including effeciency challenges (Transport 2000 seem to have forgotten last years “London to Edinburgh and back on a single tank of fuel” demonstration as an example)
I can’t myself see Top Gear being wiped out - it’s too much of an institution.
