Ark Alive

They’re kidding?

Do these people not realise that a Christian themepark is probably going to bomb when put up against the likes of Alton Towers and Thorpe Park - which have state-of-the-art thrill rides without preaching to their guests…

Now, I’m not against the concept, if these people want to try to make Christianity more accessable to the thrillseeking teenager market, good for them - but I don’t think they understand how competitive the themepark industry is - and (in my opinion) they’re going to need some very impressive rides to get people to go along, despite the religious overtones. I for one don’t want to be preached to whilst I’m trying to enjoy myself!

Maybe that’s why they’re planning to build it in Yorkshire - where there’s a bit less competition (only Lightwater Valley and Flamingoland really)

(Alright, I know about the “Christian Bit” at Alton Towers - but it’s very easy to avoid, and even this tries to be so subtle you don’t realise what it’s pushing until the end - I wouldn’t want to spend a whole day at an overly religious park)

(and I never thought I’d create a post on here with the categories “Religion” and “Coasters”!)

  • In fact, the Christian bit of Alton Towers is so subtle I have no idea what it is. Maybe there’s hidden meaning in Toyland Tours…
