They’re Letting Idiots Drive
This morning, on my way in to work, I was driving along at the speed limit (in this case, 30), and this idiot, clearly in a hurry, decides to overtake me on a left-hand bend with no visibility at all - now I can see the van coming towards us, he clearly can’t, and him pulling out in my mirror, so once he pulls out I brake to avoid a collision when he spots the van and swerves in to cut me up. Unsurprisingly he does swerve, but also brakes resulting in his car a couple of inches from mine - I let him go first (’cos I certainly don’t want him behind me again in case he tries another breathtakingly stupid overtaking move)
Where’s a policeman when you need one, oh yes, hiding behind a camera… now that they’ve got ANPR cameras, which are great for catching people who aren’t taxed or insured, but useless for unlicensed motorbikes which don’t display plates, or idiots who endanger themselves, and everyone else on the road with their terrible driving.
Now if people would respect speed limits and not get angry when other people drive legally, this kind of incident wouldn’t happen. However while there are idiots still allowed out on the road it’s only a matter of time. The general quality of motoring in the UK is appauling - respect for other drivers is non-existant, and for the sake of 200yds to the dual-carriageway this idiot tried to get us both killed.
Just make a little more time for your journey, and don’t be a moron (oh, and get off the phone)
