F1 Circus
Now I know safety was the reason, but why an agreement couldn’t be reached to allow a decent race instead of a 6 car parade, only time will tell.
Michelin said their tyres were not safe to race without an additional chicane to slow the speeds through the fast banked turn - the FIA refused to install one, so all the teams that use Michelin tyres had no choice, they couldn’t race.
I suppose in some ways it was better to have 6 cars “race” (although given the difference in performance between the teams, it wasn’t much of a race) than just the two Ferraris… but even so, this is not the spectacle of excitement that the worlds premier motorsport event should be putting on.
I’ll be surprised if there’s another US Grand Prix, and if Michelin have much of a future in Formula 1 Grand Prix racing I’ll be equally surprised.
To the folks that run F1 - don’t forget the fans - today was a farce. Don’t let this happen again. We want to see a race, the drivers want to race, the teams want to race.

A solution was possible, but I believe the stubborness of the FIA were at serious fault and caused this fiasco. >:(
