Oh, hang on, I was watching “War of the Worlds”… OK, I’ll start again

Actually, although it’s formulaic and predictable almost every step of the way (especially as it’s a well known story in it’s own right) the film is actually good fun - from the first appearance of the fighting machine right through to the very “happily ever after” type ending - the tensions between the father and his kids as they battle to reach their family in Boston plays well with the large-scale battle scenes with the elite of the US military vs the alien war machines.
Well worth going to see this summer, 5/5
All I wonder is when someone is going to turn “The Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of War Of The Worlds” into a movie… use the illustrations from the album cover to guide the animators and use techniques similar to “Polar Express” to bring that world to life and you’d no doubt have another very entertaining film.
