(or to use it’s Japanese title - “Hauru no ugoku shiro”)
This is simply superb - surreal, bizarre, a story of magic told against a backdrop of war, beautifully animated.
The story centers around Sophie, who is cursed by the Wicked Witch of the Wastes and finds herself trapped in the body of an old woman. In escaping the city, she finds herself caught up in the adventure of Howl, a boy, a scarecrow, a fire-demon, and a dog.
It’s utterly bizarre, and although animated, and despite it’s “U” rating in the UK - this is a film that is much more adult than child, however Hayao Miyazaki has brought this magical world to life.
Finally, the Advertising Standards Authority has **banned** the Crazy Frog adverts from being shown on TV before 9pm…

Shame they didn’t ban it completely really…
In the UK (as many of my readers know) the correct behaviour when driving on a multi-lane road is to drive in the left lane **unless overtaking** - here’s a site devoted to the kind of idiots who forget this and drive in the middle lane even when the left lane is clear…
Or in their words…
“If Lane 1 is the truck lane, and Lane 3 is the BMW-with-front-foglights-on lane, then Lane 2 is that motoring no man’s land.”
Enjoy!

Unfortunately there’s always the MLM who’ll sit at 60mph and only accellerate to 70 when you try to overtake… even dumber…
Well, I’m not sure where to put this one - a good movie without doubt - it tells the story of a botched fake-kidnapping and the fairly brutal ends to which a number of characters reach as a result.
Yeah, it earns that 18 rating in several scenes, although there’s nothing more grusome than you’d see in an episode of CSI nowadays… OK, well maybe there’s one scene… involving a wood-chipper…
James has posted a collection of photographs of the new coaster currently being assembled at Thorpe Park - “Project Stealth”…
This thing is going up **fast** - they’re expecting to have the “spike” completed by the end of the season, ready to show it off at Fright Nights

This thing is big. Really really big… (at least, by European standards - it’s no Dragster!)
This is going to be a short ride to say the least - but it’s also going to have long lines and being a short sharp shock when it does it’s thing. Next season will be a lot of fun!
Now here’s an idea - mail order fuel from places where it’s cheaper than it is here!

(check out the “legal” page for details of what this really is)
