End of the year quiz
I found this on Neil’s World - and thought I’d give it a go for myself:
1.What did you do in 2005 that you’d never done before?

A relationship, or at least a good circle of friends to socialise with outside of work.

Tricky one - the only “key” date was that of my Grandmother’s funeral

A work project, the details of which I won’t go into (’cos I don’t talk about work on here)

RITA Queen of Speed (sad…)

Tricky one, as I don’t listen to much “popular” music - and the year isn’t really anything to remember.. however 2005 was the year of Crazy Frog (sorry)

happier or sadder?
No change really

There’s a few I could name here, so I won’t ‘cos it’d just upset those I missed.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.
Can’t think of one off the top of my head - however something along the lines of “spending more than you earn is a bad thing”
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Lonely - by Akon
“I’m so lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely, I have nobody, To call my own” (heard one day in the gym, and it depressed me ‘cos it was so reflective of my life at that moment)

Quite an interestign read. I won’t do the lot but I will do a few:

Organised a gig for University bands and stood on stage to introduce them.

Glastonbury Festival
16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
Head Automatica - Beating Heart Baby will always remind me of this year

Cricket and Cycling, Visiting Theme Parks
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Sitting on the Internet wasting time
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Brainiac. It is like some TV Execs sat down to specifically design a program for me.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Aquabats!
29. What did you want and not get?
Chance to leave the country
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Garden State
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Copy Protection Nonsense.
37. Who did you miss?
The coaster club. Seriously. I have barely seen anyone this year, I only did about 6 days at parks or fairs over the whole year and one of those was with my brother.
Ahh - another “Brainiac” Fan… I have to admit, I enjoyed it more in the earlier series - but even so, anything that combines the concepts of “Snooker”, “Caravans” and “Explosives” cannot go wrong really…
I haven’t seen any of the recent series. I haven’t been able to watch Sky since August. I hear they show it on Sky Three now so could potentially get it on the freeview box. Unfortunately the freeview box only works when both upside down and the weather outside is completely dry and calm. So might be a while before I can watch it again.
I’ve stolen your post and put my answers up at http://malcolmspage.blogspot.com/2005/12/2005-year-in-review.html
