Dunraven Windows
PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE
Every couple of months, a knock on the door and some guy from a local double glazing company tries to sell me double glazing - now, my house is a relatively new build (and as a result has double glazing) - this fact never deters them, and when this little observation is made, then tries to sell me a replacement front door, and a conservatory.
Their persistance in the face of obvious failure (given that every house on the estate already has double glazing) is admirable, but in the event I ever need the services of such a company, I will be taking into account the nuisence factor of having had countless evenings disrupted by their sales staff… and they won’t even be called.

Actually, it’s been almost a year now, and last night, they knocked again… I made it clear I wanted nothing to do with their company…
And we’re back to the normal 2 month cycle now - 6th March and they came round again
Hee hee, me and my brother sat here eating our chips discussin the pros and cons of such a company.. amusing thread
3 months this time…

i work 4 dunraven windows and don’t think its fair what your saying. We are just tryin 2 earn an honest living.
myself and my collegues work just as hard as anyone else we don’t just go to areas to annoy you its because of interest we generate. You may not want anything but your next door neighbour may. Just a small request please show us the courtesy you expect back!!!!!!!
“Richard I” - I am always polite and courteous, but please remember that if I say “No”, I don’t expect you to continue trying to sell me other stuff. I know you’re only doing your job.
i know a lot of people don’t like me and my collegues knocking their doors but we’re just doing our jobs. I know some of my collegues can be rude and pushy but if you just say no to everything they ask they will leave. There is no need 2 shout at us and slam the door in our faces. You wouldn’t like it if it was the other way around would you?
I don’t shout, I don’t slam the door (unless it’s sticking) I politely say “No thanks” (or sometimes “Oh no, not again”) and close the door. I’ve been through the pushy sales routine for doors and conservatories far too many times now - I’m still polite, but I don’t want to waste either my time or yours. Just accept “no” as an answer and leave without trying to continue the pitch.
Almost to the day, another 3 months have passed, another unwelcome knock on the door by those nuscence salesmen. At least this one wasn’t so pushy as they normally are - he accepted “Oh, Dunraven Windows, Sorry, Not Interested” and didn’t try to sell me anything. At least their manners are improving. Now if they’d just leave me alone…
It seems Dunraven Windows are now watching this thread themselves, so they know I was called on. I had 2 emails this morning from different people, one of whom has advised me as to how to get “missed off†their door-to-door calling.
I’ll keep this thread updated as to progress with that.
the response we get wherever we go is very good, but we understand there are customers who do not need/want what we have to offer, so it would be no problem for us to miss you out when we knock your area next time.
I’ve now spoken to their head office, and have requested not to recieve cold-calls at my home again.
Thanks to the two guys from Dunraven who have been willing to discuss this (Shane and Richard L) for being open to the request not to disturb me again, and put things into place that their sales people do stop cold-calling at my home.
This positive experience with this company has made me revise my opinion of them, and in the event I need any work done on my windows or doors in the future, I will probably at least contact them for an estimate.
Now to wait 3 months to see if it works…
you have my personal guarantee, i have run this dept for dunraven for 13 years.
as long as you left your address i will put you on our list of customers not to call to.
I assume that it worked for you Tom?
I like your thread, I found it while searching for other peoples experiences with Dunraven Windows before I get a quote………
Poor service by Dunraven Windows.
After arranging appointments and re-arranging work schedules, the representative from this company did not show at the agreed date and time to carry out a survey for a quote on some that needs to be carried out on my property.
It was an evening appointment (7pm) and after waiting for 1 and a half hours my wife and I gave up. The representative did not even call to say that they would be either delayed or not able to turn up.
It looks like Dunraven Windows have not done themselves any favours here.
Much as other people may want to rant their feelings about Dunraven here - I’m not going to let this turn into a place for slagging off their other business practices, so for now, comments are closed.
