Things that make you go Hmmmm?
Why is the numeric keypad upside-down?
To explain the question, look at the numeric keypad on your computer - no doubt it has this layout:
7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
0
Why do they make them this way up - every other keypad around seems to be the other way up
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
0
Cashpoints, phones, TV remotes, they’re all the other way up - why is the PC keyboard different?

Don’t forget the calculator, that’s all upside down aswell.
Annoyingly the keyboards we use in work have the numeric keys the right way up, I assume it’s because it makes it easier to input telephone numbers, confusing though.
I’ll admit I’ve never seen a keyboard with the number pad inverted - I live and learn…
Good point about calculators though - I’d missed that as I don’t have one on my desk at home… as Windows Key+R, Calc, Return is quicker than digging a real calculator out from under the mountain of stuff on my desk!
Maybe it’s to prevent repetitive strain injury?
When you’re a the computer doing number entry your fingers get different excercise that they do while using the phone and flicking through 200 cable channels!!!
