Happy Hogswatch
For those who are fans of the Discworld, I’ve just seen the first trailer for the TV miniseries based on Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather.
Looks like it has potential, as a live action seasonal story with the fun of wizards, the Oh God of Hangovers, and of course, a rather skinny and bony individual who has swapped his scythe for a red jacket and a large sack…
It’s certainly a departure from the traditional Christmas story… and with a classic comedy actor in the form of David Jason playing the part of Albert - it’s one I’m looking forward to seeing.
Pimp My House 2006!
Yes, move movies of computer controlled Christmas Lights… (and no, they don’t all use the “Wizards In Winter” music - although it is a popular choice…)
And of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without the original Pimped House doing something else…
Carson Williams, the creator of the house featured last year has now discontuned the show, after a traffic accident caused by the congestion of the queues of people wanting to see his show for themselves… (full story) - however he has now “gone pro” and has been involved with the Festival of Mason instead.
but to finish, here’s a much better quality version of Carson Williams’ house doing “Wizards”…

Pimp my Themepark!
Following last years Musical House - what happens when Disney take some catchy music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (the same people who wrote the Wizards Of Winter music which accompanied the house video) and make it part of the Osbourne Family Spectactle of Dancing Lights.

Let it snow…
.. no matter what the weather is…
The question is, where can I get some of this weird stuff in the UK?
Update:IWOOT have the stuff available in the UK…
Budget = Tax
So, it’s budget time in the UK again, and at this time of seasonal fun and a tradition of giving, it is of course the downtrodden motorist who’se going to be doing the giving…
1.25p on a litre of fuel - just when prices started falling from the oil price changes too.
Of course, the inflation targets are heading the right way (as long as you don’t count the cost of domestic heating…) - and of course the government is still looking for more ways to tax the public… Road Charging, oh yes, that’s a good one - especially as we can fleece motorists by not providing viable alternative public transport…
Hey, Mr Brown, how about the Government gives us something for our money other than a war the public generally doesn’t support, roads full of potholes, ID cards which nobody wants, a rail system that barely gets from A to B, and an NHS with enormous waiting lists?
Hey Labour - Start listening, or don’t be surprised come the elections…

Last night was the 2006 WRC Wales Rally GB Super Special Stage 13 (which I’m not going to type again - so let’s just call it SS13)
A full evening of high-octane entertainment, consisting of about an hour of WRC action in the stage, followed by the MPH show, then more rally action to end the day.
The MPH show consistent of a number of “challenges” between 2 celebrity teams, including car football (as seen on Top Gear a couple of years ago) and “car Rugby” which involved an air-ram launcher, a small car and a set of Rugby posts. Unfortunately, the photos of that didn’t come out
All in all, the addition of the MPH show was an improvement on last year, and I for one am looking forward to repeating this again in 2007.
