NTL/Virgin - they did it again…

another day, another phone call, another screw-up…

Today’s call to NTL/Virgin Media to find out what happened on Saturday revealed that my TV Box had been reconnected (again) rather than being picked up. I’ve rescheduled the pickup (again) and have had to go through the whole “disconnections” process again - so hopefully, this time, they’ll get it right.

I don’t hold out much hope that they will…

Anyone know how I go about finding out if the BT line to the house can be reactivated, and what broadband speeds I could expect over ADSL?

I’ve spoken to BT, and the fastest I could expect from the old BT line is 1.5Mb - not a patch on the connection I’ve got at the moment.

    Shame really…

    http://www.samknows.com/broadband/

Stick your phone number in there and it will give you details of your exchange and any other services that may be available.

Only problem with that is I don’t have a BT number - the line is not connected…

I did try my local exchange details, and it’s pretty clear why the speed is so low - the exchange is several miles away…
