Quofda: Why do Mondays suck?

Calendar (http://www.sxc.hu/photo/750005)A new site has sprung up recently - Quofda (thanks to Ollie for pointing me in that direction)- which suggests a “question of the day” for bloggers to answer. Todays question is “Why do Monday’s Suck?” - to which I thought I’d try to give my answer.

It starts with the shrill electronic beeping of the alarm clock, the realisation that it’s time to vacate the warm bed and head out into the cold world (especially at this time of year). It’s still dark outside, and will be for some time yet. It’s the knowledge that the next time I see real daylight for any length of time will probably be 5 days away, and that the next 5 days will be spent living under the glow of artificial lights (apart from a half hour at lunchtime when I might get the chance to go outside, if the weather is cooperative).

That’s why Monday’s really suck.

It’s the light thing for me as well. Driving to work before the sun rises, leaving work after the sun has set and spending all the time in between under fluorescents. And living in a city, it is statistically more likely to rain at the weekends. Oh, and also that Monday’s are just Monday’s, only made worse in the winter.
